In March 2016 I participated in an online photography workshop through WordPress, and each day of the four week session had a different theme. I wanted to keep my submissions out of my main blogroll, so you can see all of them together below.
Day 1 – Home
I cheated a little today – we had a huge storm blow in this afternoon (thunder, lightening, the works) and I couldn’t go out after work to take pictures like I’d planned. So instead, these are a few of my favorites from the area that has become my new home here in Macedonia.
Day 2 – Street

Day 3 – Water
Day 4 – Bliss

When I think of bliss, I think of memories. Today’s photos are a small collection of moments that I can think back to and remember being completely at peace in the world. And, really, is there anything more blissful than sinking your teeth into that first incredibly messy bite of a double double?
Day 5 – Solitude
Weekend Assignment – Creating a Gallery
Here are some of the photos I’ve taken this week that didn’t make into previous posts.
Day 6 – Connect
Connection in this photo is not simply the physical connection these bridges create across the river dividing Skopje. The Old Stone Bridge in the foreground also connects the new center of Skopje and the heart of the city – the old bazaar. It bridges cultures and customs, bringing together Macedonians and Albanians, Roma and Turks, Christians and Muslims, all in one beautiful place.
A couple other favorites from tonight that don’t have to do with the theme:
Day 7 – Big

Day 8 – The Natural World
Day 9 – Warmth

Day 10 – Mystery

Day 11 – Pop of Color
Day 12 – Architecture and Monochrome
I decided to play with some photos I took at the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles last summer, I think black and white really suits the art deco style of the observatory (and makes it look like the set of an old sci-fi movie).
Day 13 – Moment and Motion

Day 14 – Scale

Day 15 – Landscape
Day 16 – Treasure

Day 17 – Glass
Day 18 – Edge and Alignment
Day 19 – Double
Day 20 – Triumph

And that’s it for Photography 101! I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of being mindful of my surroundings, and have also really loved seeing the work of other bloggers. Thank you to everyone that has liked this page and commented on my photographs, it means a lot and has been very encouraging to me.
